H2Oproject

Who We Are

The H2Oproject is a social justice initiative that was started 5 years ago through the college ministry at Pleasant Valley Church.  The goal of the H2Oproject is to dig wells in Liberia, Africa.  The H2Oproject has partnered with EFCA Reach Global and with Live Life Liberia.  All wells will be dug and sustained by either local churches and/or schools.  This enables the sustainability of the wells by empowering the locals to not only be employed to dig the wells, but also to upkeep it.

Water can be a considered a linchpin to so many humanitarian needs.  Having clean, safe drinking water, Liberians will be able to save time fetching water, stay healthy longer to be able to work and also attend school.  These are just a few issues that having clean, safe drinking water resolves.

In Liberia, because of the depth of the water shelf, it is relatively cheap to dig wells there.  It costs anywhere from $1500-$3000 to dig a well.  Over the last five years, the H2Oproject and other local partners (i.e., Winona State University Athletes via the 48 hour practice), have funded the development of 15 wells.
